What is a Partial Knee Replacement?
Partial knee replacement is a minimally invasive surgery where only a portion of the knee is replaced. The bones of the knee form three compartments or articulations: the inside, outside and front of the knee. Sometimes, patient has arthritis confined to only one compartment. With a partial knee replacement, patient can replace the arthritic compartment of the knee while keeping the rest of their original anatomy, including the ligaments inside the knee.
